Bangkok, August 7, 2024 – PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) is hosting the SPE/IADC Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition (APDT) during August 7-8, 2024 at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World, Bangkok. The event is organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) to engage industry leaders and experts in the petroleum exploration across the globe in sharing perspectives and insights on emerging challenges, expand collaboration network, and showcase advanced technologies as well as pathways to sustainability. More than 1,000 participants from over 30 countries are expected to join the event.
Held under the theme “Advancing Drilling and Well Technologies for a Resilient Future”, the APDT 2024 features panel sessions whereby executives and experts from PTTEP and other organizations share their visions and perspectives, as well as the technical paper presentations covering more than 80 topics which promote knowledge exchange that will contribute to strengthening the energy industry capabilities and paving way for greenhouse gas solutions.
In addition, leading energy companies also showcase advanced technologies as part of the event exhibition. PTTEP exhibition booth presents the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project that the company initiated and studied at the Arthit gas field to reduce carbon emissions, along with other technologies that PTTEP group has developed in collaboration with partners to enhance the petroleum exploration and production efficiency namely the “Well Delivery Process (WDP) Application” which is a web-based integrated well delivery solution for planning, design and development of well drilling that helps reduce well planning cycle time by approximately 30%; “Thermite Seal” which uses special alloy for safe and efficient well plugging and abandonment; and “XGATEWAY”, an Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) with cutting-edge satellite communication systems that works with underwater vehicles to inspect subsea pipelines and create underwater maps, enhancing safety and reducing operation time.
