PTTEP–AIT collaborate on petroleum exploration research and professional development, leading to advance CCS technology

Mr. Rangsan Bhengbhun (3rd from right), Executive Vice President for Geosciences, Subsurface, and Exploration Group, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), and Professor Kazuo Yamamoto (3rd from left), President of Asian Institute of Technology have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the “PTTEP Subsurface University Energy Connect” project. The collaboration is aimed to carry out research study on geoscience and petroleum engineering, develop professionals in petroleum exploration and production and explore for carbon storage sites. These are pivotal to drive the development of Carbon capture and storage (CCS) towards a low-carbon society. The signing ceremony was held at Asian Institute of Technology, Pathum Thani province.

Under the PTTEP Subsurface University Energy Connect scheme, PTTEP has signed MoU with 8 organization and universities including Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Synchrotron Light Research Institute, (Public Organization), Suranaree University of Technology and Asian Institute of Technology.
